...More Birthday Pictures....

Here are a few more pictures from the birthday party :)

{the cake, yummm}

{danaduncan}

Dana: is it cake time yet?
Scott: "...but I thought the cake was for me....."

We purchased the cake, had it decorated, drove home, took some pictures, and completely demolished the cake in less than 90 minutes...impressive, huh?

I hope you enjoy the pictures :)

Happy Birthday Rachael!

Happy Birthday Rachael! xoxo, Dana

Want to see some ugly cakes?!

So every now and then my mother, Lynne, sends me to the funniest websites that just make me laugh like crazy!!! Last night we went over to their house for dinner and she made me go to this site, Cake Wrecks. We must have spent at least a half of an hour scrolling through some of the most ridiculous cakes that I have ever seen! Below are a couple our favorites :) Happy Friday!

How could you not just laugh if this arrived on your wedding day----or should I say Weeding day :)

Who in their right might thinks, "I am such an attention wh*re, lets make our wedding cake a shrine to ME and then we will cut into it with a giant knife"
I think she finally realized how silly this was right when someone decided to take this picture!

This one just has to make you laugh. I am sure this cake decorator was thinking...."Don't spell it wrong, don't spell it wrong," and did not even notice what they were writing :)

Happy Birthday Dana Duncan Photography!

What an amazing year it has been :) Dana Duncan Photography is celebrating our first birthday & I could not be more thankful to all of my friends, family & clients! It has been such an amazing year and I cannot wait to see what the next year will bring.

As you can see there have been many changes this past week. First, Nikki over at ExpressiveStyleGraphics has given the blog a nice little facelift. You will start to notice that pictures will be much larger & the overall feel is much less cluttered. Also, you will notice links below the header that will take you directly to the website or allow you to email the studio. All of the items that were originally located on the right hand side will now be located at the bottom of the blog {music, archives, email}.

Also, if you head over to the wesbite {danaduncanphotography.com} you will notice the new "proofing" website :) Once you enter the actual website, select the 'proofing' tab and you can check out some new sessions {enter password bruin01}

I also want to give a special 'thanks' to my husband, Scott, who has be absolutley AMAZING throughout this entire process. He handles so much stuff behind the scene and I would not be able to do this without him :) A couple of months ago he gave himself the title VP of Sales & Marketing {nice, huh?} so I'm not really sure that I can promote him at this point. Scott....keep up the hardwork, there is always next year ;)

Keep checking back over the next few days....I have more birthday pictures, 7 sessions to blog {sorry for the delay, I was waiting for the new 'photo' blog to arrive!}, information on Christmas Card sessions, and a Fall 2008 special.

xoxo, dana

***UPDATE*** Scott approached me today regarding his lack of a promotion and suggested the following titles, "President" "Senior Vice President of Operations", or "Custodial Engineer"---because that is how he feels about not getting a promotion.

Dave Matthews Band 2008

Last Thursday Scott & I went to see the Dave Matthews Band down at the Oceanfront. We are so lucky to get front row tickets every year....and it gets better and better each time. This year's concert was by far the best I've seen in the past 5 years. Dave played a lot of his classics and two of my favorites {Crash & Satellite}...I would have loved to hear Two-Step & Lie in Our Grave....but there is always next year :)

Below are a couple of fun shots....Enjoy! :)

{Sunday Snapshot} Jake the Snake

Hello Everyone :)

This past weekend was super busy! On Thursday evening Scott & I went to see the Dave Matthews concert {pictures & video soon}, Friday we sat out at the pool all day, Friday night we had guests over & Ashley R came to town to visit, Saturday morning I spent the day at the spa with my mother & sister, Saturday evening we went out to dinner to celebrate my parents 30th wedding anniversary, and then Sunday we spent the day at Water Country USA. I am on my way to a shoot now, but it has been such a great weekend catching up with friends :)

I noticed earlier this week that Jacob has not been on the blog in quite some time---so here he is :) This picture is from our family shoot and Jacob was SO much fun! Now that he has been walking for a couple of months he has started running everywhere!!! His favorite game is to have you chase him and he thinks it is the funniest thing in the world! Jacob is also one of the cleanest kids I have ever met. He insists on putting all of his toys up, putting his milk in the fridge & he even knows how to throw away his diaper!!!!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Next Sunday's snapshot is going to be very exciting----BIG NEWS :)

{Whitney's Senior Session sneak peek}

Last week I met up with Whitney for her Senior Portraits and I could not be more excited about how they have turned out! We started out day at the botanical gardens and then headed to the beach for some pictures at sunset.
Whitney was SO much fun to work with and was completely open to trying any random suggestions I had { I promise there were a few random requests}

The images below are some of my favorites, I hope you enjoy them!
