{family beach photos SNEAK PEEK}

When a good friend of mine from work asked me to take some family pictures this weekend at the beach I was ecstatic :) I love the beach...and I love photography....Could things be any better :)

Aside from the super hot weather---I couldn't have asked for better shooting conditions :) On top of that, they were one of the sweetest family sessions I have had to date and I had such a great time!

Matt White :)

Last September I was headed out the Norfolk Botanical Gardens to shoot a wedding when I heard a song called, "Best Days" by Matt White on the radio. I just loved the song and I could not stop singing it! I am pretty sure I liked it so much because of the catchy chorus and because it reminded me of what an amazing 7.5 years that Scott & I have had. I couldn't get the song out of my head so as soon as I got home that night I downloaded it from iTunes. Since then, I have been hooked on their CD {especially, "Love", “New York Girls” and “Play”}---you should definitely check him out!

{fastforward 10 months...}

About a month ago Scott and I decided to head up to Richmond to hear Matt White and his band play at a venue called the Canal Club---I honestly think it was one of my favorite concerts of all time! We were lucky to have a table up front and we literally sat 8 feet from the stage. After the concert we were able to talk to Matt for a little bit and he is such a down-to-earth person! Then last night we headed over to the Norva to see Matt play again and his concert was great—as always! Here are a couple of pictures from our concerts, Enjoy!

Sunday Snapshot :)

sneak peek of Miss Makenzie Rhys :)

Last weekend I met one of my college sorority sisters, Jannah, and her daughter, Makenzie Rhys, at Mt. Trashmore to take some pictures. Makenzie has to be one of the most well behaved toddlers I have ever met & I hope Scott & I are lucky enough to have a such a great kid!

We started shooting on the playground and Makenzie quickly showed us where she wanted to have her pictures taken :) We let her direct most of the session and I think she did a great job :) I may even have to bring her along more often!

Griffon!

A couple weeks ago a group of our friends headed up to Busch Gardens for a day of beer tasting and roller coasters! We started off the day riding Busch Garden’s famous new ride, Griffon {see below}, then we headed to a beer tasting, and finally, we ended the day with some 4th of July fireworks.

Anytime we are in public I managed to get in some sort of trouble with my camera {me, breaking the rules? No way :)} and this day was no exception. I brought my handy dandy point & shoot camera so I could grab a video of this amazing new roller coaster---but what I didn’t see if the giant signs that said, “…any form of camera or video camera brought on this ride will result in immediate dismissal from the park without refund…” So we rode the Griffon (amazing!) and there were no problems with the camera….Then we headed over to Alpengist…and as we are heading up the first hill…the ride stops. The over the speaker we hear, “Please fasten all loose items.” I felt like a kid that had just been scolded. The camera strap was around my wrist so I just dropped the camera and tried to pretend it wasn’t me! Then, the speaker comes on and says, “Girl with the camera!!!” Oh my goodness---it was the most embarrassing moment ever!

Luckily they didn’t kick me out of the park, but you can bet that as soon as the safety harnesses lifted, we booked it!

I have another funny story about Busch Gardens but I’m going to save it for the next post!
